- Depending on where you live, certification can mean something different, as can the program required to obtain that title. Before choosing where to obtain your Korean translation certification, you need to decide what your field of translation will be. While you may only require a general translation certification, if you are looking for something more specific, say medical translation, you may need to seek out a specific agency.

Often, before you can become aKorean certified translator you will be required to take a few steps.  One is to obtain membership in the organization to which you wish to belong. The second is to pass the exam at the end of your training. And thirdly, you will most likely be required to keep up your membership enrolment by paying dues each year.

One of the best ways to know if being a Korean certified translator is for you, is to talk to other members in the field and get them to answer any questions you may have. The time and money involved in certification can be significant, and isn’t for everyone.  If after doing some research you feel that certified translation is for you, becoming certified as a translator can add weight to your resume, and help you get the job you desire.
